Die letzten 3 Tage haben wir im schoenen Russel verbracht und haben einfach den Strand und die Sonne genossen. Heute geht es dann weiter nach Norden.

Arrived in New Zealand - In Neuseeland angekommen
Nachdem ich jetzt schon gut eine Woche in Neuseeland bin, dachte ich mir, wird es langsam mal Zeit ein erstes Update zu schreiben und euch ein paar Photos zu zeigen.
Der Flug war dafür dass es fast 30 Stunden gedauert hat recht angenehm. Das Work and Holiday Visum habe ich ohne Probleme bekommen.
Am Flughafen hat uns dann Sanchio abgeholt. Wir haben dann ein paar Tage in Auckland verbracht und uns nach einem Van umgeschaut. Am zweiten Tag waren wir auch schon erfolgreich und haben einen Nissan Vanette in super Zustand für $NZ 1400 (ca 800 Euro) bekommen. Der Van ist echt super ausgestattet:

Sonnendach
Klimaanlage
Zentralverriegelung
Elektrische Fenster
außerdem kann man die mittleren Sitze umdrehen, so dass wir sie nicht ausbauen mussten um ein Bett einzubauen.
Wir haben uns dann ein Bett in den Van gebaut und uns mit einer Camper Ausrüstung ausgestattet.
Bei Sanchio hatten wir noch viel Spass mit seinen Beach Buggy :-)))
Jetzt sind wir mittlerweile in der Bay of Island und geniessen die Sonne. Gestern habe ich Muscheln gesammelt die wir uns dann zum Abendessen haben schmecken lassen. Vielleicht fängt Alex heute ja auch mal einen Fisch.
Ach so unter einem Wasserfall habe ich auch schon geduscht!!!
After being in New Zealand for about a week now I thought its time to post a little update about my trip and to show you some photos.
The trip was quite good for a 30 hour plan trip. I had no problems with my visa at all.
Sanchio picked us up at the airport and we stayed in Auckland for a few days looking for a van. After just two days we found a Nissan Vanette in mint condition for just NZ $1400.

Air con
Central looking
and the seats in the middle turn around so we didn't have to take them out to fit a bed in it. We equipped our self with some camping gear and fit a bed in the van.
At Sanchios place we had some good fun with his beach buggy :-)))
Now we are at the Bay of Island and enjoying the sun. Yesterday we had some shellfish that we found on the rooks on Long Beach in Russel for dinner. Maybe today Alex will actually catch some fish and not just feed the fish with the bait.
And I had a shower under a 25 Meter waterfall. that was pretty cool!!!

All Packed - Alles gepackt
Well it's still two days to go till my flight but I've already packed up all my stuff. My backpack is 9kg any my hand luggage 6kg - I just got to many book. But it's so had for me to leave my books behind.
Just can't wait to get on the road. Hope I will do lots of crazy things like this. Human Slingshot
Es sind zwar noch zwei Tage bis zum meinem Abflug aber ich habe schon alles gepackt. Mein Rucksack bringt 9 Kilo auf die Waage und mein Handgepäck 6 - ich habe einfach zu viele Bücher dabei. Aber ich kann mich doch so schwer von Büchern trennen.
Ich kann es kam erwarten endlich loszumachen. Hoffentlich mache ich auch viele verrückte Dinge wie das hier. Menschliche Steinschleuder

ROMA
bevor meine eigentliche Reise losgeht bin ich noch mal für eine Woche in Rom. Diese Stadt ist wirklich ueberwaeltigend. An jede Ecke ist eine Kirche, Museum oder sonst wie beeindruckendes Gebäude. Aber ich will euch nicht mit dem üblichen Touristen Kram langweilen. Leider kann ich noch keine Fotos hochladen, aber das werde ich bei Gelegenheit nachholen. Ein Kaffee kostet hier zwischen 0.50€ und 5.00€, eine Handtasche zwischen 5€ und 5000€.

But I don't want to bore you with the usual tourist stuff. Unfortunately I was not able to upload some pictures but I will do that as soon as possible. A coffee cost you between 0.50€ and 5.00€, a handbag between 5€ and 5000€.

Abschiedparty / Farewell Party
Am Samstag habe ich meine Abschiedsparty in meiner WG gefeiert. Hat mich sehr gefreut noch mal so viele meiner Freunde zu sehen, bevor es nach Neuseeland geht. Es waren so 50-60 Leute da denke ich mal. Aber dass es eine Abschiedsparty war ist mir auch erst im Laufe des Abends klar geworden, als die ersten zu mir kamen um sich zu verabschieden und mir alles Gute zu wünschen.
War auf jeden Fall ne super Party und die Karaoke Maschine hat sich auch großer Beliebtheit erfreut. Um 6 Uhr morgens sind dann auch die letzten Gäste nach Hause und nach ein paar Stunden Schlaf ging es ans Aufräumen.

Das Essen war auch fast komplett vernichtet.
Saturday night I celebrated my farewell party in my flat. It was very nice to see so many of my friends again before i leave for New Zealand. There were about 50-60 people at the party.
But I only realized that it is a farewell party when the first guests left and wished me well.
We had good fun and the karaoke machine was used a lot. At 6 in the morning the last guest left and after a few hours of sleep we had to clean up the mess:
9 beer crates
several bottles of wine
lots of cocktails
and almost all food was eaten.
War auf jeden Fall ne super Party und die Karaoke Maschine hat sich auch großer Beliebtheit erfreut. Um 6 Uhr morgens sind dann auch die letzten Gäste nach Hause und nach ein paar Stunden Schlaf ging es ans Aufräumen.

Worum gehts hier eigentlich? / What's all this about anyway?
Für diejenigen, die mich nicht kennen, will ich mal kurz erzählen, warum ich mich dazu entschieden habe, das Netz mit noch einem weiteren Blog vollzustopfen.
Auch so erst mal sollte ich vielleicht erwähnen wer ich bin. Also ich bin Rudy, 24 Jahre alt und habe letzten Herbst mein Studium in Informationstechnik an der BA Stuttgart abgeschlossen. Da ich keine Lust mehr auf 8-9 Stunden im Großraumbüro hatte und mir im Moment aber auch nicht sicher bin, was ich denn mal wirklich als Beruf machen will, habe ich mich dazu entschieden, mir erst mal die Welt anzusehnen. Ich bin begeisterter Couchsurfer, reise natürlich sehr gerne und tauche und kletter. Normalerweise laufe ich barfuß durch die Gegend. Ein bisschen mehr könnt ihr noch in meinem Couchsurfing Profil über mich erfahren.
Am 10. Februar 2007 um 23:25 Uhr werde ich am Frankfurter Flughafen meine Reise nach Neuseeland und vielleicht um die Welt beginnen. Bis jetzt habe ich nur ein One-Way-Ticket nach Neuseeland und von da will ich dann mal weitersehn. In Auckland werde ich endlich meinen alten Freund Sanchio wiedersehen und mir dann ein Auto kaufen. Mein Mitbewohner Alex wird für vier Wochen auch mitkommen und wir werden dann gemeinsam erst mal ein bisschen Urlaub machen.

Well first of all who am I? I'm Rudy, 24 years old and just finished my studies in Computer Science in Germany. Because I didn't feel like working in a cube farm for 8-9 hours a day and don't quite know what I want to do for a living I decided to travel the world. I love traveling, do rock climbing and SCUBA diving and love working around barefoot. You can find out a little more about me in my Couchsurfing Profile.
On the 10th of February 2007 at 11:25pm my journey will begin at Frankfurt Airport. I have a one-way-ticket to Auckland New Zealand and from there I will see where I go next. In Auckland I will finally meet my good friend Sanchio again and my plan is to buy a car there and then go on a little holiday with Sanchio and my flat mate Alex who is coming with me for four weeks.
