Back in Auckland

So I'm back in Auckland for now. In Rororua we dropped of Lisa and she went on hitchhiking heading south. It took her only 30 seconds to get a ride. He didn't even have time to turn around and she was already in the next car ;-)
Yesterday Alex went back to Germany. He should be somewhere at 10000m altitude by now.

I'll probably stick around at Sanchio's place for a few days and visit some old friends. I also need to fix the stereo in my car - for some reason I'm having bad luck with the music in my car.

Will check out some diving place and see where I can get a good deal on the dive master licence. If I still have enough time during the dive training I'll probably get some part time job to fill up on some cash.

Coromandel and Rotorua

We chilled out at the beautifully beaches of Coromandel and now we're in smelly Rotorua.
Sorry just can't be bothered to write much at the moment, so just some snapshots this time.

Tomorrow it's back to Auckland and Alex will fly back to good old Germany.

Up North

In Russel we met Lisa, another German Traveler, who is now traveling with us. She is really cool and we had some very interesting talks about God, the universe and everything on the way. She sleeps in my tend when we camp so it was a good thing to bring it along.

We has a great time up North! Went all the way up to the Cape Reinga and had some great fun in the sand dunes.

We went along the West Coast back down to Auckland. We sated in a very nice Backpacker and visited the Kauri Forest. Just Amazing to stand in front of a 2000 year old tree.

On the way we found something rather funny. An old truck that has been in a service station (or better speaking what is left of it) for over 50 years. I talked to the grand sun of the owner of the truck and he told me that it just never got fixed. I wonder for how much longer it will be there.

Oh I almost forgot, on the way up North we went to the Rainbow Falls. Lisa and me went behind the falls and took a sower. It was so cool being behind the Falls. If you ever get the change to do this, you just have to do it. unfortunately Alex didn't take any photos of us behind or under the falls. But I guess that's just something you have to remember in you mind and not on a photo. But here is a photo of just the Falls you you get an idea of how big they are.

Sorry no German this time ;-)

Arrived in New Zealand - In Neuseeland angekommen

Das Work and Holiday Visum habe ich ohne Probleme bekommen.

After being in New Zealand for about a week now I thought its time to post a little update about my trip and to show you some photos.
The trip was quite good for a 30 hour plan trip. I had no problems with my visa at all.
Sanchio picked us up at the airport and we stayed in Auckland for a few days looking for a van. After just two days we found a Nissan Vanette in mint condition for just NZ $1400.
It good so many cool features
Power steering
Sun roof
Air con
Central looking
and the seats in the middle turn around so we didn't have to take them out to fit a bed in it. We equipped our self with some camping gear and fit a bed in the van.

At Sanchios place we had some good fun with his beach buggy :-)))
Now we are at the Bay of Island and enjoying the sun. Yesterday we had some shellfish that we found on the rooks on Long Beach in Russel for dinner. Maybe today Alex will actually catch some fish and not just feed the fish with the bait.
And I had a shower under a 25 Meter waterfall. that was pretty cool!!!

All Packed - Alles gepackt

Well it's still two days to go till my flight but I've already packed up all my stuff. My backpack is 9kg any my hand luggage 6kg - I just got to many book. But it's so had for me to leave my books behind.
Just can't wait to get on the road. Hope I will do lots of crazy things like this. Human Slingshot

Menschliche Steinschleuder
